The Waldorf Enrichment School Consulting Board  

The purpose of this board is to provide you with a more holistic Waldorf consulting experience. This consulting board is a list of people that I consult with when you write to me with Waldorf questions via the Health & Homeschooling Consulting Board These board members are not part of the Waldorf school online lesson plans and are not responsible for any of the content of this site or any of my affiliate sites. Early Childhood: Kristie Karima Burns, MH, ND, Director and Teacher at the International Waldorf Enrichment School from 1999-2003/4;Lecturer at Waldorf in the Home Conferences in California and Colorado; Mother to 3 children ages 9,11 and 13; Owner of The Waldorf Channel, and The Waldorf Enrichment School Online. Naturopathic Doctor, Herbalist, Teacher and Artist.

Waldorf Elementary Consultant (Ages 3rd grade and up): Kathleen Dytrych, Mother to children ages 10 & 14; Graduate of the Arcturus Rudolf SteinerTeacher Education Program, and substitute teacher at the Four Winds Waldorf School.

Crafting Consultant: Val Creek is a mother and grandmother. In her own words, "I have homeschooled my daughters (all 5 of them) and now my son is in a Waldorf Charter school. I teach rhythm and rhyme in an after care program." She does quilting and many other crafts with her children and grandchildren on a weekly basis.

Mary says, "I began sewing at my mother's knee at the age of 4, and made my first Waldorf doll when my first daughter (my fourth child) was 6 years old. She is now 16, and is also a professional dollmaker. I have refined my skills, learning many wonderful techniques from several master dollmakers. I have made dolls professionally for several doll companies, and taught workshops to beginning dollmakers. Music Consultant: Aurore Adamkiewicz, N.D. Aurore is the founder of AMCH I, II and III, programs that integrate music, language, color and sound therapy using the pentatonic and diatonic musical scales. Her website is at: www.beyondnaturalmedicine.com

Circle Time Consultant: Kimberly Bottenfield-Rivera. Kimberly is a co-leader of The Desert Winds Co-op in El Paso, Texas. Circle time is a passion for Kimberly says "circle time is where my children and I have our gathering time in the morning, it is where we warm up our bodies and our minds before lessons, it is where I do certain therapeutic exercises for our over-all sensory integration, and it is where I target specific skills by learning through movement." She loves talking to people who are struggling with translating a circle time into their home-life. She has worked with ages 3-12 in her circle times.

Nature and Environmental Consultant: Jessie and Randy Mermel, directors of The Dome Education & Gathering Center:(www.thedomecenter.org) are dedicated defenders of the wild.  They have two homeschooled nature-loving children. Their mission is to restore and nurture our bonds with nature and inspire sustainable communities.

Eurythmy Consultant: OPEN

Yoga & Movement: Amissa Burton, RYT - Amissa is a Yoga instructor and was a dancer for 12 years before she discovered Yoga.  She received her 500 hour training in Dallas, TX through Samatva Yoga.  Samatva Yoga mixes Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Integral Yoga philosophies to accomodate the varying needs of each unique body.  She is also trained in Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga and Yoga for Kids. Amissa has created circle-time routines for some of her local co-ops. Autism Consultant: Janet Tubbs, Author of "Creative Therapy for Children with Autism, ADD and Asperger's - Using Artistic Creativity to Reach, Teach and Touch Our Children" . Anthroposophic expert, Janet Tubbs is the author of a wonderful book that was 3 years in writing and the result of 25 years of working with children on The Autism Spectrum. She was inspired by Rudolf Steiner's spiritual insights into children and the arts. She developed an effective and fun program in 1984 that has now been published as a guide for parents, teachers and therapists. At this time her book is available on Amazon.com and in bookstores!

Research & Learning Challenges Consultant: Robin McDonald has been homeschooling since 2001, when she retired from her profession as a science writer. During her professional career, she learned the skill and art of research. She has worked for newspapers, school districts, television stations, and organizations such as The San Jacinto Museum of History and NASA-Johnson Space Center in Houston TX, Microsoft in Seattle, WA, and Qwest in Denver CO.
Robin has three children, 22-year-old Christina, 19-year-old Michael, and 13 year-old Hunter. She currently teaches science and writing classes in the Houston area, reviews curriculum, and owns the Charlotte Mason-Waldorf list. She has been influenced by Waldorf, Enki, and Montessori methods.

Robin also has a special interest in learning disabilities. Since her 13-year-old son Hunter was diagnosed with severe dyslexia and auditory processing disorder, she has been researching these topics and consulting with experts on the subject. After enrolling Hunter in The Harvest, a Waldorf-Inspired school in The Woodlands, Texas, she learned about the Waldorf-inspired Extra Lesson. In addition to using local learning specialists, she has consulted with Waldorf teachers concerning her son's challenges. She has been influenced and inspired by her son's first Waldorf teacher, David Darcy, as well as Live Education's Rainbow Rosenbloom, Enki Education founder Beth Sutton, and Christopherus Homeschool's Donna Simmons.
